Who we are
The Zeus and PJ Charitable Foundation (the “Charity”) is a company registered in England under registered company number 15677494. The Charity’s registered office is: First Floor, 10 Queen Street Place, London, United Kingdom, EC4R 1BE.
What we do
The Charity believes that all dogs should be able to receive treatment for cancer (and in certain cases, others serious diseases) and looks to cover the cost of cancer treatment for dogs when their owners are not in a financial position to afford the treatment.
Data protection
To comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our Privacy Policy (Policy) details the obligations of the Charity pertaining to the collection, retention, safeguarding of and access to your Personal Data.
Personal Data, as defined by GDPR, is any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified by reference to an identifier. This includes, but is not limited to, name, email address, postal address, an online identifier, or one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity of that natural person(Personal Data”).
Types of Personal Data we collect
Based on your interaction with the Charity, we will collect the following types of information from you:
- Contact details including your name, postal address, telephone number and email address
- Details of your Veterinarian
- Details of your Cancer Treatment Centre
- Financial information, such as bank account details (including statements), UK tax returns, P60s and monthly expenses
- Professional information, such as employer and job title
- Your Gift Aid declaration
- Your history of donations
- Your interests, preferences and feedback
- Photos and videos of your pet and other marketing materials
- Your reasons for becoming involved with the Charity
- Your communication and marketing preferences
- Your correspondence with the Charity
The above list is not exhaustive and in certain cases, the Charity may need to collect additional Personal Data for the purposes of the Charity.
How does the Charity obtain your Personal Data
The majority of Personal Data that we process is given directly to us by dog owners, supporters and volunteers. We will also receive Personal Data when you donate to the Charity via the Charity’s third-party service such as Raisely (which uses Stripe as its payment processing provider). Raisely will make the following Personal Data available to the Charity:
- The donor’s
- First and last name
- Address
- Phone number
- E-mail address
- Details of the donation
How is your Personal Data used
Basically, your Personal Data may be used to help us achieve our mission of funding cancer treatments for dogs or to help us raise funds for our charitable services.
Legal basis for processing
We will only process Personal Data when we have a valid legal basis for doing so, as required by the UK’s governing laws.
How long we keep your information
We will retain Personal Data for different periods of time depending on the nature of your relationship with the Charity but for not longer than necessary for the Charity or purposes set out in this Policy. Generally, we will retain your Personal Data for six years after our last interaction with you. There will be very few exceptions to this policy such as HMRC’s requirement for a Giftaid audit or a legacy donation from a gift in a will.
Marketing and fundraising
The Charity’s marketing and fundraising activities enable us to raise the money necessary to commit to pay for cancer treatments for dogs.
You are in control of how we communicate with you as we will seek your consent to send you marketing via email, phone or text message. We only want to send you communications that are genuinely of interest and relevant to you. If you chose to hear from us in these ways, we will send information on dogs in need of funding, updates on dogs that have received funding for cancer treatment, updates on the Charity as well as various ways in which you can support the Charity, including fundraising, events and campaigning.
As a general rule, we will rely on your consent and/or legitimate interest with regards to communications with you.
We will never rent, swap or sell your details for marketing purposes.
Financial transactions
The Charity uses a third-party service provider to process any donations made through our website. This is currently being done by Raisely which in turn uses Stripe as its payment processing provider.
The Personal Data that we obtain from Raisely is set out above. We will use that information to manage your donation e.g. to provide Gift Aid Certificates or deal with any issues regarding your donation(s) and for marketing and further fundraising (set out above).
We will rely on legitimate interest and/or your consent with regards to communications with you.
Photography
If you are a dog owner and the Charity has funded the cancer treatments for your dog, we will have requested your consent to use photographs and/or videos for fundraising and update purposes.
Data sharing
The Charity will not sell or exchange your Personal Data to another organization which they could then use for their own marketing purposes.
There will exist certain cases in which we may need to share your Personal Data with other organizations, such as Cancer Treatment Centres when a dog is receiving funding for the treatment of cancer.
Your data protection rights
When the Charity is using your Personal Data based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. You also have the right to ask the Charity to stop using your Personal Data for direct marketing purposes. Simply contact us via the “Contact Us” form on our website and we will amend your contact preferences.
