How we help

At the Zeus and PJ Charitable Foundation, our focus is on providing financial support for canine cancer treatments to dog owners in England facing financial challenges. We understand that the emotional and financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming, especially in today's challenging economic climate where the cost of living continues to rise. Our commitment is to try to alleviate this burden and ensure that no dog in England is deprived of the life-saving cancer care they desperately need due to the financial position of their owner.

Eligibility and application process

We understand that financial need varies among dog owners, and we have established a clear eligibility process to ensure that support is directed to those who truly require assistance for their dog’s cancer treatment. Our application process is designed to be straightforward and compassionate, with dedicated review teams assessing each case with care.

The online application is user-friendly, allowing families to check their eligibility and submit their applications conveniently from home. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible so that families can focus on what truly matters –

Caring for beloved dogs during their battle with cancer.

FIRST CONSULTATION

Funding for the initial consultation for your dog at a specialist cancer treatment centre.

This funding is available for dogs diagnosed with cancer by their primary (general practice) veterinarian, but where more information may be required to determine the optimum treatment plan and associated prognosis.

Funding for the initial consultation and minimum required diagnostics at a Specialist Cancer Treatment Centre is available for dog owners who receive at least one of the following UK Government benefits:

– Universal Credit
– Pension Credit
– Housing Benefit
– Job Seekers Allowance
– Employment and Support Allowance
– Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
– Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

We can provide funding for the first visit to a Specialist Cancer Treatment Centre for an initial review to confirm the cancer diagnosis and perform any essential investigations required to determine prognosis and treatment options.

Following this assessment, a Medical Eligibility Application must be completed by the veterinarian at that Centre and reviewed by our Board of Trustees to determine eligibility for additional funding for cancer treatment.

If you do not receive one of the UK Government benefits listed above, but are facing financial difficulty in affording the initial consultation, you still can apply for funding for the initial consultation.

CANCER TREATMENT

Funding for your dog’s cancer treatment at a specialist cancer treatment centrer.

This funding is available for dogs already diagnosed with cancer, with a proposed treatment plan devised by an oncologist at a Specialist Cancer Treatment Centre.

We offer financial assistance to dog owners in England who are facing challenges in affording specialist cancer treatments for their beloved pets. Our foundation covers expenses related to specialist cancer treatment through a combination of our General Fund and targeted fundraising campaigns designed for individual dogs in need. Each campaign highlights the unique story of the dog, allowing us to connect with compassionate animal lovers who want to make a meaningful difference.

By providing focused financial support, we enable families to pursue necessary cancer treatments for their dogs without the burden of overwhelming medical costs. Our mission is to try to ensure that dogs in England facing cancer receive the life-saving care they require, enabling them to continue to thrive alongside their loving families.
How to apply for funding

Note:

  • Funding Approval Process

Approval for funding of the initial consultation does not guarantee that the suggested treatment protocol will be funded by the Charity. Once you are in receipt of the treatment protocol, you application will be reviewed by our Financial and Medical Committees for a decision.

  • No Reimbursement Policy

Under no circumstances do we offer reimbursement for consultations or treatments that have already been performed, whether at your primary veterinarian or at the Cancer Treatment Centre.

Tailored fundraising campaigns

For each accepted case, we launch a bespoke fundraising campaign that tells the unique story of the dog in need. These campaigns not only aim to raise funds but also to raise awareness about the challenges faced by dogs with cancer and the importance of community support. By sharing these stories through social media, newsletters, and community events, we engage our supporters and inspire them to contribute to the cause. Every donation, no matter how small, helps make a significant impact on a dog’s life.
